This is a course in embedding small computational elements into moving toys and construction kits.  Students will use various types of fabrication tools including a laser cutter, Dimension 3D printer, and traditional shop tools such as saws, dremels, and drills to build their projects.  We will work with Handy Crickets and other forms of computation.

This is a time-intensive, projects-based course.  Students are expected to spend a considerable amount of time using the lab facilities outside of class sessions.

Grading:

Project 1:  Build a moving mechanical toy and integrate computation - 35%

Project 2:  Create a construction kit with embedded computation - 45%

Short Assignments:  10%

Class Participation:  10%
