Students designed and built a mechanism based on ones at Leonardo and the Renaissance Engineers. This warm-up exercise was designed to introduce students to the lab's laser cutter, 3D-printer, and machine tools, and also gave them time to learn about the dynamics of their work groups before moving on to the more complex second project.
