This is a course in designing moving mechanical sculptures and toys. In addition to traditional crafting tools such as saws and dremels, students will also learn to use fabrication devices including a laser cutter and 3D rapid prototyper. Previous experience is not necessary, but this group project-based course requires a fearless spirit of exploration of new materials and techniques, as well as a considerable time commitment outside of class.
