The Center for LifeLong Learning and Design (L3D) is part of the Department of Computer Science and the Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. The mission of the center is to establish the scientific foundations for the envisionment, design, development, and assessment of socio-technical systems that serve as amplifiers of human capabilities and that will bring dramatic and transformative improvements in the ways people live, learn, work, and collaborate. Current Research Directions

We are exploring and analyzing how Cultures of Participation can be fostered and supported to help people achieve their goals. In particular, we are currently researching how different aspects of Cultures of Participation apply to the domain of residential energy usage and how they can be used to help people to make smarter decisions about their own energy consumption.

L3D Meetings

We have meetings on Wednesdays at 11:30 in the L3D/Epic lab in DLC 170. Details of upcoming and past meetings along with directions to the lab can be found here.
