The Envisionment and Discovery Collaboratory (EDC)
Demonstration Overview

The Bus Stop transportation environment is a prototype that demonstrates many of the important aspects of the Envisionment and Discovery Collaboratory (EDC). The Bus Stop, which explores issues relating to land use and transportation planning in cities, is one example system that exemplifies the general purpose EDC framework. Three important features of the EDC will be emphasized in this demonstration.
  1. Interaction Techniques - participants interact with a problem setting in an integrated physical / computational environment.
  2. Exploring Complex Problems - participants interact in this environment to explore issues in a complex problem setting.
  3. Extending the Information Space - participants explore a structured information space which they can extend.
