tradeoffs that are unavoidable when engaged in the decision making process at
the neighborhood scale.
The goal of this game is to construct a sustainable neighborhood through the
choices you make. You are a resident of a neighborhood that fosters resident
involvement and input on current issues. Your neighborhood follows a grid
pattern because it is the most common neighborhood form. One locus of your
neighborhood is the intersection of two highly traveled streets, Main Street
and First Avenue. These streets provide strong physical and social linkages
and networks that are a valuable asset to your neighborhood. Through
navigating this gridded neighborhood, you are to visit each location and
address the current issue. Each icon on the grid represents a new situation
in which a decision must be made that influences the future sustainability of
your community.
