Software Engineering Made to Measure

Abstract

Software Engineering research and practice worked towards more mature
processes and documents for decades. With CMM and SPICE, the 1990ies were
the decade of process maturity. However, there are many small, short
software projects that cannot adopt the same solutions: With the advent of
agile methods, there was a trend towards more direct communication,
incremental development and less rigorous processes. For most projects, the
ideal is somewhere in between. In this talk, the motivation and vision for
the FLOW research project is presented. Its goal is to support tailoring of
projects either before or during a project, based on information and
experience flows.
