Posting Your Reflections in Sources

Required

• Create a Sources Account
  • Go to Sources. From the top bar, click on the "Login" hypertext. If you already have an account on DynaSites, enter your user name and password. Otherwise, create an account by clicking on the "Register Now" button. You will be prompted for the following information:
    • A user name (e.g., your first name, last name or nick name);
    • A password (don't forget this password);
    • Your first and last name;
    • Your email address; and
    • The web address of your homepage.
  • When you are done, click on the "Register Button". You will enter Sources. Notice that your user name will now appear at the top left hand corner of the screen.

• Use your user name and password to enter Sources from now on.

• Browse Through Sources
  • Explore the Search function. Look for the Sources for the EDC Web Site and "Enhancing Communication, Facilitating Shared Understanding..." paper.

    • see: Sources Manual for general information on Sources
  • Add your comments regarding the EDC web site and the "Enhancing Communication, Facilitating Shared Understanding..." paper (i.e., this weeks assignment) as an annotation to the appropriate Sources records that you found (see: Annotating Sources)

WARNING: In the event that the system crashes and/or your connection to the internet is disrupted, you should prepare your Sources and DynaGloss contributions on your own computer using a program you are comfortable with before you enter it (save it for at least a week). Copy and paste the contribution from your "local" document to Sources and DynaGloss.

• Add one or several RELEVANT keywords to each of these. Instructions for adding keywords to a Source are presented in the "Annotating an existing Source" section of the Sources Manual. If a keyword that you want to add does not already exist in DynaGloss, add it to DynaGloss using the instructions provided in the "Sources: Add Keywords" page. Notice that after you have entered the term, it appears as hypertext to the right of the "Keywords" field. If you click on the term, you will notice that under the definition, below the word "Sources", the title of the Source you added the keyword to as well as the titles of other Sources that reference this keyword appear.

• Search for the DODE article that was assigned for January 25th.
• Add keywords and your annotations to the DODE article in Sources.
• Annotate other peoples annotations for any Source.
• Create a new Source.
• Read the Sources Manual
