Student Evaluation Criteria

This seminar will consist of reading, writing about, and discussing a variety of topics in CSCL. It is the expectation that all participants will have read assigned readings prior to the group discussion and posted a set of comments to the course discussion forum. A full half of the course evaluation, therefore, will be based on the student's contributions to the class discussions and postings to the class discussion forum.

The other half of the course evaluation will be based on a "termless paper" prepared, reviewed, and revised over the course of the seminar. Students will be expected to not only produce a paper of their own, but also to participate in a collaborative development process intended to assist their classmates in improving their papers.

Students will play an important role in their own evaluation. At the completion of each unit of the course, each student will be asked to reflect upon and evaluate their own learning progress.
